An Interesting Report On A BH In Vietnam !!!

Been pretty occupied with restoring those sound system in a BH in Dungun, Trengganu.

The BH was deep in a palm oil plantation with no electricity and water.

With no electricity means the BH needs those solar power collection system and with no water means will not take any bath for the rest of the installation period.

Well my workers used just a few cups of fresh drinking water to wash their face and start work every morning.

To reduce the time without any pipe water they work during both day and night.

Just returned home last night and this morning saw this special email from a deciple from Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam.

He came to Kuala Lumpur about one year ago to learn from me and later invited me to give some advises on this particular BH where these pictures were taken.

I told him to go with the dual entrance system and also told him about the success rate is 3 times more than a single entrance type.

Dear Sifu Harry,

How are you?

Just kindly send you some photos taken during my last visit.

My dual entrance BH now has more than 130 nests and nest marking after 6 months in operation.

All markings we seen last time now formed full nests and had eggs or young chicks inside.

We are more than happy to see our BHs growing up day by day.

Your technique is so wonderful and “Pak Harry” deserves to be a brand name in swiftlet farming.

May the happiest things always happen to you and your family. Hope you continue your great contribution to our industry.

Best regards,

NDat

Remember I am not a  "Sifu" or a "Consultant".  I am just an ordinary man from the street that feels that  there must be some formulas or methods or gadgets or designs or sounds to make your BH successful.

Whatever I discovered I will share them with those who read my blog. U are the lucky one.  Trust me.

Have a good look at all the pictures that was send by him and try to analyse them.

I wanted to add the following observations:

1) If there the birds build their nests on a nesting planks away from those tweeters and perfume bottles they prefer to be near to the ceiling.  The gap with the ceiling is about 2 inches or less. The reason why they construct this way is to secure the baby when they are growing.  The closeness to the ceiling will prevent possible predator coming from the top.

2) When there are those perfume bottles and tweeters they will build above these gadgets.  There must be some attraction to both the perfume bottles and those tweeters.  The perfume bottles will lure the birds with the smell and those tweeters lure the birds due to the internal sound.

3)They seems to be attracted to those perfume bottles.  This was my recommendation to the BH owner.  Find some small empty bottles with removable caps.  Drill some holes to allow those perfume to flow and mount the cap cover on to the nesting planks.  Prepare your perfume by using those raw nests (dirty or broken nests will be okay).  Soak the raw nests for a few days and once ready separate the water.  Now use those chop stick and put some of the wet raw nest into those empty bottles.  Once you have a bit of those soaked raw nests inside the bottle fill it up with the nest water.  Fix the bottle onto the cover that you have screwed onto the nesting planks.

4) Beside perfume bottles and tweeters they also love the fake nests.  My advise for all newbies try to install at least 100 fake nests per floor especially inside the VIP rooms.
