Yesterday I was in Kemunting, Taiping to visit a newly acquired BH located in an Industrial area.
The semi-D two stories building was recently purchased and with about 400 nests.
The person assigned to look after the BH was keen to know how to improve the BH.
I took not more then 5 minutes to tell the caretaker that the external sound was not in operation. The player was not operating and there was also no thumb drive on it.
The previous owner must have taken it away or perhaps tried to sabotage the nests population.
I told him that the external sound is something like your heart. No sound means no heart. No heart means your BH will be dead.
The internal sound amplifier, only one was out into operation, and runs only up to 4:00am.
The timers on those control timers were not synchronised.
There was no hexagonal tweeters on the roof top.
The pool in the entrance hole was not operational.
The external sound tweeters needs replacement and additional quantities.
The best was that there were at least 100 birds inside the house during the visit.
Floors, both downstairs and upstairs were pretty dry with one humidifier looks not working properly.
No signs of any VIP room anywhere in the house.
After the 45 minutes inspection I pen down the list of things that can help the owner to increase the nest numbers by at least 100% within 12 months.
Submitted to his attention and I am sure he need more then the report.
