Bukit Selambau Up And Running !!!
About 4 weeks ago this BH in Bukit Selamabau Kuala Ketil Kedah was left for an owl to breed.
The BH owner gave up and left the BH to the owl.
Then the owner attended a Productivity Seminar held by Jabatan Veterina.
That was when he met Pak Harry.
His failed story seems to be the same as many others.
However after listening to Pak Harry's talk his desire to reactivate his BH came immediately.
The raw price is not that bad if he can harvest about 3-5 kilos a month. So why not.
He invited Pak Harry to view what was wrong and he never turn back.
He did almost all the things recommended and last Sunday March 5th 2015 his BH is officially back into operation.
I was there to have the final inspection plus setting the sound system.
There were a couple more things his workers did not installed.
I pointed it to him and after my explanation his workers promised to put them into place.
The Hexagonal tweeter was doing well.
A mini bazooka seems to be very effective.
The tweeters around the LMB perimeter were well placed.
He also installed some owl shock lines on the main entrance hole.
I was happy with what he did with the nesting planks.
He added a number of new rows of cross woods.
The number of internal sound tweeters were plentiful.
Beside every tweeter you will see at least 2 pieces of fake nests.
The only two things that I was not happy about was:
1) The ground floor and the LAL areas were not installed with any external sound tweeters.
2) The evening sun was a bit too bright for the upper floor. He need to blacken the walls and the floor where the bright light was shining upon.
Let us hope that after finishing the two items left and start the operation there will be some birds returning back.
He used to have about 50 nests before giving up.
