Why do you think you need to prevent your BH from breeding lots of ants inside?
Well one thing for sure is that you need to prevent any to start climbing into your BH nests and start biting those young baby birds.
Once that happened you will have a dead young bird soon.
Just imagine if the mother of the two baby birds decided to abandon her nests?
This can be a disaster.
Mom and Dad suddenly abandoned their two siblings due to those infestation of ants attacking their nests at night when they came back to sleep.
Have a look at this example which was recently captured in a BH in Pahang.
A very interesting video clip and you can see those red ants harassing the nests and maybe started to bite the young and naked babies.
Both are still very young and their eye lit were still not opened.
This BH owner seems to do very little about her BH.
She thinks that once her BH is put into operation that's it.
No maintenance and let it run by itself.
Never apply any insecticide or put ants poison or set traps for those rats and etc.
If anything goes wrong inside it is the consultant's fault. Nothing doing with her.
Never learn how to set the amplifiers, never change the sound, never closed those doors after she entered, never apply any aroma, never wet the floors nothing.
My sincere advise to all those who owned BHs please upgrade your knowledge on how to maintain a BH.
Learn from some one whom you can trust and diligently carry out your duty to ensure that your BH is in good shape all the time.
Never blame anyone if your BH is doing well but blame yourself for not doing what a BH owner should do.
If you don't know ask and don't keep quite and expect everything will be okay by not doing the right thing.
