Back In Kuala Lumpur !!!

Okay guys I am back in Kuala Lumpur as at 7pm today.

Took the sky bus to KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur and got my wife to pick me up.

At last back home and I think there will be some interesting stories for all who follow my blog.

My first will be about meeting the most successful BH owner in the whole of Vietnam.

It was one of my wish to meet him and with God grace my wish was granted.

While on the way to inspect a suitable piece of land at Can Gio, Southern Vietnam, I was taken to one of the most successful BH in Vietnam belonging to a Malaysian named Mr L.

While passing his BH we saw someone entering the gate of the BH fence.

My client indicated that the person who entered the fence was the owner of the BH.

I was lucky to have someone who was very fluent in Chinese and started introducing ourselves.

At first we were afraid that he might be very hostile to our visit but once we informed him that we are from Malaysia he immediately offer us to join him for a cup of coffee.

He started with his history how he came to Vietnam to sell soap about 15 - 16 years ago.

Mr L originated from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.

He do have some relatives who were involved in Swiftlet Farming in Malaysia.  That was how he came to know about swiftlet farming.

Many of them keep asking him to start swiftlet farming in Vietnam but he ignored them.

One fine evening while passing a bridge in Southern Vietnam, he asked his driver to stop for him to look at a large number of black birds playing at the bridge.

He discovered that they were swiftlet.  I understand he inspected their nests.

From that day onward he was determined to start his first BH in Vietnam.

He managed to purchase a piece of land and started building his first.  This first was set to change his life and suddenly the price of all land around his BH escalated by at least 22 times.

Mr L indicated that life was not as easy at it seems.

The local people, not all, were unhappy over his wealth and started to complain to the local authorities.

His BH was inspected by various departments and the recommendation by a reputable professor from a higher institution safe his swiftlet house.

He seems to be very proud to be the owner of at least 10 more BHs in Vietnam and nearly all were said to be doing well.

He supported Vietnamese to go into this new venture but reminded them that it is not as easy as they thought.

There are so many issues to be attended to and his hope is that newbies will be careful on how to start their farm.

My frank opinion about him is that he is a very pleasant person and I hope his contribution to the overall swiftlet industries in Vietnam is recognized by the country he now call his second home.

He seems to be not retiring but going full steam with more swiftlet farming projects in Vietnam.

There will be more swiftlet farming houses in Vietnam and from what I can see the number of new BHs are growing like mushrooms sprouting after a heavy rain.

It is unbelievable and I am sure by the end of this year 2011, there will be at least 3000 - 5000 BHs from current about 1,000 (estimated).

A booming industry and we need to thank Mr.L for his effort.
