Get The Extra Height And Expand The Nesting Area Later !!!
Today, almost the whole day, I was attending to a visitor hailed from Hong Kong but staying in East Kalimantan.
An Accountant by profession but currently very crazy about swiftlet farming. His mind was made up and what he really wanted is to own a successful BH in East Kalimantan.
He spend almost six months to do research about swiftlet farming by reading all those books he can get hold of, attending various seminars, read a few selected blogs and now took a one day Swiftlet Tour with me.
He confessed for spending about one month to read all my articles at swiftletfarming.blogspot.com.
He enjoyed reading it and keep saying that my blog is the most comprehensive with lots of logical explainations.
I took him to Rawang Country Home, Batang Berjuntai, Sungai Rambai Swiftlet City and lastly to Sekinchan. On the way back we stop at Kepong Industrial area.
While on the way back we stop at this high rise BH about 6 kilometers from Bantang Berjuntai.
I realised something interesting about this BH. The owner placed no effort to convert the ground floor which was about 14 feet high.
His attention was on the first and top floor. He seems to get the advantage of the height but focus only on the 1st and 2nd floors. I believed once the two floors are occupied he can start expanding his BH to the lower floor. Since it was 14 feet tall he can actually build 2 layers of additional nesting floors (minimum 7 feet high).
A marvelous idea for all newbies to consider.
He cut down the cost to convert the lowest floor in the beginning but will get the extra nesting rooms once the two floors above are full. I am sure this design concept will do good to all those who plan to have a stand alone BH.
This video clip was taken at Bantang Benjuntai shop houses with lots of birds.
