The average body length of a Swiftlet is 9 centimeters, about half the size of a Swallow.

3)The average life span of a Swiftlet is about 15 to 18 years. Its age influences the quality of its nest. In general, the older the bird is, the more simmer-tolerant the nest is.

Since I put your NBU sound set. My BH significant increase swiftlet staying from 20 to 60.

Lots of birds come about 100. Play more on my BH.

My neighbor BH (50 meters) was empty because of the weather too hot.

So he lost all his birds (37 C degree). He got contractor revamp his BH just done 2 days ago and start again.

He only turn on his ext sound at peak time. And stop playing within normal time. I think he also just apply aroma.

Lots of my new tenant seemly lost to his BH. The birds tend to play more on his BH but not mind.

Even I regcon my external tweeters are so much better than his Ones. His BH size is not better than me. His BH made of steel,which extremly hot at the moment as weather 32-36 C degree.

I have no idea what did he revamp so excilent or the aroma too good. I have no aroma left to apply. Waiting till your seminar to learn and make aroma.

Would you advice something to protect my new tenants as some of them i know they not ready "I do".

Welcome To All Newbies !!!

This swiftlet farming blog started sometime in 2007 November. I created it as my personal diary on all those things that I discovered.

After a number of calls received I decided to make it more like a reference site to those newbies who wanted to get into the swiftlet industry.It has been kept as a secret industry where no one wanted to share their knowledge.

May be with my small contribution I hope more and more people will open up their mind and willing to share what they know.

I am not a "Consultant" or a "Sifu" but just a person who loves swiftlet farming.

Something To Share !!!

This morning received a call from Termeloh, Pahang.

This lady bought four of my very powerful sounds:

Hi, Pak Harry...

I've just returned from visiting my bird house in Kuantan with some very good news. Before implementing your suggestions, there wasn't a single spot of bird shit in the house after several months. It has been about 1.5 months since I've implemented your recommendations 100%.

I've added a VIP room, repositioned humidifiers into the VIP room and sprinkled bird shit around them, 2 spray canisters of your "bird aroma", more internal tweeters, a hexagonal speaker and 2 bazooka speakers at the entrance and put 2 bags of ammonium bicarbonate on the floor.

I've also painted the outside of the building with ICI Weathershield. I have also added further insulation at the glass windows too. There are now at least 30 spots of bird shit on the floor. No birds' nests yet but hope to see some on my next visit to Kuantan. Thanks a lot for your advise.
