Common Mistakes In Tweeter's Installation !!!

I was in Sungai Patani last week and a blog reader wanted my service to evaluate his slow growing BH.

Well since I was around I drop by to see his problem.

"Pak Harry the birds do enter the BH but they never stay.  What do you think the possible reasons?"

I need to take a look on the roof top and inside the house.  I am sure there are some explanations on why they do not want to stay.

First I will make a tour around the BH and will give special attention to the entrance area.

Then inside the house with special attention to the roving room and the entrance area.

The next will be the nesting rooms.

Oww.... I can see why those birds are not staying.

1) The BH, as usual very bare and too wide.  There wasn't any room to hide for those birds.  What he needed was some VIP rooms.

2) The contractor seem to be lacked of knowledge on the important of those tweeters.  They loved to install those tweeters in a very awkward orientation.  The top touching the ceiling and slanting to mount onto the nesting plank.  This should not be the recommended way of installing tweeters. Remember there is more then playing those sound.  These tweeters are crucial to those birds.  They also act as a warm blanket during a cold night. It is better to put them upright so that the couple (male n female) will be able to cuddle with each other clinging to the top part of the tweeter.

3)  If you wanted the couple to quickly make their nest, you must also know where to install these tweeters.  You need to be specific and precise in choosing the right location.  Installing all over the house without knowing the important is wrong.  Trust me.  So where should you install all these internal sound tweeters?  The best is two inches away from the 90* corners.  Basically you encourage them to get them to start building their nests at the 90* corner.  What about if they build on the top of the tweeter?  Again some will build at the back of the tweeter above the round shape buttock.

The above picture was taken from the SP BH and you can see that the owner installed those tweeters without any clear ideas what actually are the various functions of each tweeter.

You could not blame him since he was never informed about what is so special about these tweeters.  Even if his brother is the President of the swiftlet association in SP he still will not be informed about this unusual information.  These are secrets and no body should share them with others.  Pak Harry does !!!!

4) One more that I wish to add is why don't you try to install some tweeters in twos (twin tweeters).  If you wanted to try put these twin tweeters at the 90* corner closed with the walls.  If I am not mistaken, this will be the preferred nesting place for those birds.  You need to ask me why????

The above picture indicated how empty the BH was.  Very little tweeters and those installed were not proper.
