While working on a BH located in Sri Alam, Masai, Johor, the owner wanted my opinion about a piece of land somewhere in Sungai Tiram, Johor.
"Pak Harry get ready to go for a bumpy road inside a palm oil plantation."
I was expecting the worse but after reaching the target location, I was pretty surprised.
Yes it was deep inside but along the road there were cement poles with electrical cable.
"Pak Harry the poles ended in front of a BH. Five stories and it belong to a rich man with at least 30 BHs."
This investor is not a normal person and after some investigation I came to know the owner.
He is a friend of mine who currently reside in Kota Tinggi, Johor.
He showed me his BH with dual entrances and have five five stories BH in Setiawan up for sale.
Very innovative and heavily into swiftlet farming.

Come Fly With Me: AF Flying Charecteristics Inside A Monkey House !!!
A short video clip to show you how those birds fly inside the monkey house.
Please try to determine it is clockwise or anti?
Do you think the locations of the two holes proper?
Is the money house too big?
It is too bright?
What about the entrance hole into the BH roving room?
I took this clip in a BH located at an Industrial Lot at Bakar Arang, SP.
The monkey house was about 20 feet X 20 feet and about 30 feet high.
The owner opened two entrance holes. One facing the East and one the West.
They were placed diagonally.
For each floor the owner open one entrance hole about 3 feet X 3 feet.
I was given the opportunity to work on this BH where I rewired the BH with plenty of tweeters, clasters and chandeliers.
Proud to say that the BH is back to its feet and more birds are coming in.
It used to be dead with no new nests.

So You Think You Are Good In Camouflaging Your BH?
While in Go Cong, Vietnam, I was very sure this was an apartment.
Made with a very expensive Italian Marble with Varendah.
Once you move to the side and the back it was a BH.
Vietnamese seem to know how to camouflage their BH better then Malaysian.
Have a look at these pictures and you know what I am trying to say.

More Pictures On The Hanging Perfume Garden In Batu Pahat !!!
During my last project in Batu Pahat, Johor I carried out an experiment in the deployment of the hanging perfume garden.
This time I used a larger pepper bottles made of glass.
You can see the two colors. The whitish and the brownish liquid in them.
The white colored liquid is the raw nests water (with some raw nest in them) while the brown colored liquid is the mysecrectrcp.
I used only one of the four VIP rooms in the BH.
If you observe the positioning of all the bottles properly you can see that I installed them on all the four corners and in the middle too.
The corners will be the best target but who knows what the birds preferred.
All in all this new aroma deployment method will make the smell last longer as compared to spraying onto those walls.
Within less then 2 weeks the liquid will be dried and the smell will be gone.
Using the hanging garden method will allows the liquid to evaporate at a slower pace thus will make the aroma smell last longer.
I just hope the will start to colonize the upper part of the bottle in a very short time.
Will check for any result within the next few months.
A Malaysian Owned BH In Vietnam: One f The Most Successful !!!
One of the most successful BH in Vietnam.
The BH was about 1 hour's drive from HCM city. It was in fact in HCM territory.
Very interesting to note that the owner is a Malaysian married to a Vietnam girl.
Perhaps there will be more Malaysian soon since the rules in Vietnam are not that sticky as in Malaysia. The birds are plenty and everyone were talking about how many thousand birds is in your BH.
This Mr Malaysian started with one but soon after he extended to three. (See the following Photos).
He choose the Monkey house with side entries. I think if you look from far he also have a top entry.
I wish I could have met him and ask how he started the swiftlet business.

Vietnamese Are Slim And Thin Due To Their Simple Vege Diet !!!
Sorry I haven't finish with Vietnam stories yet.
If you happened to be in Vietnam, please observe the number of obese on the road. There are not many or perhaps none.
I discovered the reason why.
It was their diet.
Their main diet are Vegetables, Fish, slice of pork and rice paper. Yes they eat rice but in paper form.
Their method of eating is by rolling the three food items into a rice paper and dip into a source and then eat.
Nothing fancy, simple and it is very difficult to be fat.
All you need to do is to boil a fish and piece of pork. While waiting for the fish&pork to be ready you can go to your Vegetables Garden and pluck all those leaves that you can eat. Remember get some herbs too.
My wife says that this is the best way of eating. I agree with her 100%.
Now my wife wanted to start searching for those rice paper.
From now on here will be no more fish fries, no curry fish head, no assam laksa, no rojak, no deep fried fish and so on. I should have not told her in the first place.
Well before you marry a Vietnamese girl please think carefully.
My advise is to go ahead and I am sure with the above diet you will be very slim and sexy.
You can now start a BH project in Vietnam. Use her to buy a piece of land.
Please conduct a bird call test first.
In Vietnam no foreigners can own any land.
My Picture Was On The Wall Of This Bird Nest Shop !!!
Suddenly I feel like a celebrity.
While in Vietnam I was not only greeted by a few BH owners but I realised that some went to the extreme of getting my photograph on the shop wall.
I guess that's how people appreciate my contribution or for being so helpful in giving advise to all these newbies.
They appreciate your helps and they wanted to remember your face every day.
A Genius Method On How To Keep Those Owls Away.
Most BHs in Vietnam are with very small entrance hole about 1 foot long by 3 feet wide.
I think they have lots of owls. Owls can destroy your birds population. The moment these owls enters your populated BH, the birds population will drop to about a third.
They will make a meal of all your tenants.
One simple innovation that was very unique in Vietnam is to use a manual spectacle door closure made of wood.
All you need to do is to pull a rope and get the spectacle in position.
From far it looks like nothing important but in Vietnam the number of owls are plenty.
Most of these owners stays very close to their BH.
If you are not at home then .......... ask your neighbors to close them for you???

Photos Of BHs Taken In Vietnam !!!!
These photos were taken in Vietnam recently.
I was invited by a group of BH owners who planned to build at least 20 BHs and I hope I can be of help to ensure that their investments are fruitful.
The number of BHs are growing in Vietnam but I can see those which are doing well but at the same time there are many that are not doing well too.
It was said that the number now is below 1000 units but with the number of new comers coming into the industry I am very confident the number will rise.
The risks are many but if these newbies are knowledgeable they will be okay.
Please enjoy viewing the many pictures taken with my Nikon Camera.
