Remember the article I wrote on those flying foxes?
The BH owner who reported his BH problem send me the attached video clip.
According to him the flying fox will wait for hours to start attacking those helpless swiftlet.
Out of ten they captured they will kill all but ate only two. Only some part of the body will be eaten.
What a horrible predator.
Just have a look at the clip and make sure the same predators are not in your BH.

4) Installation of nesting plank crossings.
5) Installation of 45* wood corners to create those cluster tweeters installation.
6) Installation of two long range bazookas on the Monkey House rooftop.
7) Installation of TwinPower tweeters on the external walls of the Monkey house.
8) Installation of power tweeters for external sounds .
9) Installation of about 150 cluster tweeters.
10) Installation of about 500 single tweeters on the nesting planks.
11) Installation of two Hygrotemp humidifiers controllers.
12) Installation of two new amplifiers for the external sounds.
13) Old amplifiers were used to operated the three internal sounds.
14) Supplied new and more effective sounds to the BH.
15) Applied Mutiara Aroma on the walls and the floors.
16) Placed about 5 bags of fresh bird shit.
17) (To install two mist makers once arrived).
18) Installed about 8 pieces of chandeliers.
The BH was locked and wait for result status.
The owner was very grateful and keep saying that he will be calling me for celebration once we have a reasonable of nests in it.
I was very happy to have finish the task given and I can see that the roof top especially above the Monkey house were visited by swiftlet most of the time.
Yes those TwinPower tweeters were exceptionally good to lure more birds to the roof top areas.
(A new entrance hole facing the road)
(The floor slab being cut and removed)
(More floor slabs were taken out to allow birds to find their ways into the nesting rooms)
(Looking upward to the main entrance window from the middle floor)
(The VVIP room which is at the back of the floor)
(Installation of chnadelier tweeters)
(The pig farm just beside the BH.)
At last now I can breath fresh air and not those pigs smell. He he he....

The TwinPower Tweeters at your Entrance Hole !!!
If you BH happens to be on an agricultural land and far away from any residential areas, I recommend you to re look at the roof top of your monkey house.
We know that this will be where those swiftlet will start their journey into your BH.
They need to start by coming over the rooftop and start to enjoy listening to those external sound played.
Once they feel that the sound is attractive enough they will start attacking or packing the tweeters playing those sounds.
When their numbers increased there will be some that are bold enough to fly into the BH via the entrance hole.
Usually this will make the rest to follow and soon all will enter your BH.
Usually they will fly in and out but there will some who will stay longer than the rest.
The more the numbers entered the better will be the chances of you getting some to stay.
The issue here is how many can you get above the roof top and how many will enter?
This is why you need to give some attention to the roof top areas, especially on the monkey house areas.
Well during my recent visit to Pancing, Kuantan, I was given a chance to visit a newly launched BH that was considered to be the best among the many new BHs around the area.
Within less that 2 months the number of bird shits inside the BH was more than a few hundreds (200 plus).
The group who invited me wanted my expert opinion on why the house is better than their own BH about 800 meters away.
The moment I came out of the car, parked at the front part of the affected BH, I can hear the loud sound coming out from the roof top.
I could not see any hexagonal tweeters but there were these twin tweeters that were hung around the entrance hole. This particular BH was using the top entry design.
I have never seen or observed any other BH using this special technique and I think this is another interesting discoveries that might be of special interest to any new BH owners.
I will try to assemble a set and take some pictures of how the two high powered tweeters were assembled and placed at the entrance hole areas.
In Air Kuning, Perak, I deployed the idea and you will be very surprised what happened.
My idea was to install two sets of the assembled tweeters at one side of the entrance hole, about 2 feet to the left and the right.
Since there were two entrance holes, I deployed four sets. I term this as "twinpower"
The sound to these four (8 high powered tweeters) were connected to a separate amplifier playing the most attractive sound.
Something very interesting and worth to try.
Use those high powered tweeter with special mouth.
Will take some photos for all to learn more.

Is It Possible To Repopulate A Vacant Cave ?
This morning I was invited to have breakfast with a Dato from Sabah.
All he wanted to know was is it possible to repopulate a Cave that was once with thousands of swiftlet nests.
He came to Kuala Lumpur to attend a business meeting and while waiting for his flight back to Sabah he called me to meet for a cup of coffee.
The sad thing that happened during the breakfast meeting was that his dear mother passed away in a hospital back in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The doctor in charged called him to inform about his sick mother.
I felt the sadness that he endured to lose someone so dear to him.
I told him that I too lost both my parent about two years ago.
You feel so empty without them and every one of us will go through the same experience once in their life time.
At that particular time all you wanted was to have another few minutes to be with them.
What he wanted to ask me was on this particular idea of repopulating a cave that was once full of swiftlet nests.
"Pak Harry, I remembered those days when I used to be one of the nests harvester. There were so many of them but now there were not a single nest. Is there any way to bring them back?"
My frank answer to him was "We can try but I have never been asked to rehabilitate caves before."
If they have stayed there before I am sure they will be willing to return home but we need to prevent the same that caused them to move out.
After about 2 hours breakfast I told him to allow me to visit the cave and I shall bring a set of sound gadget to test if those wild birds will show any response.
My plan is to be in KK perhaps on the 3rd week of this month and visit the cave for two days.
In the meantime will assemble a set of sound system to carry over to the site.
My condolences to you and family Dato.

Mutiara Aroma Applied in Da Nang, Vietnam !!!
An email report about Mutiara Aroma used in Danang, Vietnam.
His preferred time of application is at 10:00 in the morning.
This is when the number of birds inside the BH is minimum.
The email just received about two days ago:

Dear Sifu,
I just read your blog newest news about Mutiara Aroma.
This is my experience wanna share:
1st, current birds time in my city is 5:30AM start flight out, 6:00 PM end (following sunlight and most birds)
I think best time apply inside BH by hand is 10AM morning. This time is the lowest number of birds in your BH including nesting birds with babies and eggs. Not after 12 noon as some birds return home to hetching and feed their babies.
Every time I apply in the morning 10AM, on the same day in the afternoon, lots of birds coming after that until afternoon, and afternoon 5PM-6PM quite a lot than normal (2-3 times) (100% effective outcomes after apply mutiara aroma).
Sometimes I apply Aroma on the top BH roof (outside BH). The result was marvelous. 100-200 birds will come exactly. The time apply Aroma on the roof is 3 AM in the morning - very early, I make sure not scare them as they may drink it or shower it on BH roof.
I apply on roof with pressure machine and the system ready on roof. Just make a right time and turn it on whenever i want.
Hope this will help your confuseness when research!
Best Regards,
N

When Is The Best Time To Apply Your BH Aroma ???
If you are the type who love to apply aroma to your BH please read this article and perhaps try to reply if it is not true or true.
I was having dinner with a swiftlet enthusiast last night. He fell in love with swiftlet farming just recently and was delighted to have met me for a couple of times.
After getting my advise and some sounds he now owned a BH in Pahang.
Every time when he comes to KL or PJ he will get me around for some chat.
Last night we talked about many things but one thing that he wanted to share with me were the following:
1) You Mutiara Aroma really works.
I did not remember where he got the Mutiara aroma but he was dead sure I was the one who supplied the aroma to him.
He applied to the wall and the best was at the entrance window.
On the same day he and his partner saw with their own eyes that those birds simply cling on those affected walls.
It must be so good that his partner wanted it to be applied to the nesting plank.
I told him that Mutiara aroma is a bird shit water base so I do not recommend to be applied on those planks.
2) The best time to apply those aroma is between 3.00pm to 4:00pm.
This was the conclusion that he derived.
He was cock sure that timing is something very important when you apply the aroma.
Too late it will loose its effectiveness however tool late will scare away those birds.
I was experimenting with aroma application using those chicken coop mist maker and in one of the BH with CCTV cameras, I make some powerful discoveries to confirm his opinion.
This particular BH I set the mist blower to blow an aroma at 6:00pm till 6:10pm every day.
The do come inside from morning till 6:00pm but will stop entering immediately when the aroma was sprayed.
My observation seems to prove that if you apply those aroma too late, like just before they come home, the smell of those aroma will make them feel scared or unsafe.
Those smells will make them think that there was a big colony of birds that have just entered your BH thus going inside is a big risk.
This will be a big disaster if you do not readjust the timing to 3:00pm.
Remember these observation might be wrong but if you do have your own discoveries please let me know.
Please remember to email your constructive input to harryswiftlet@yahoo.com

A Very Clear Signs Of Owl Visited Your BH !!!
What are the signs that your BH being visited by Owl?
I was very fortunate to capture some pictures showing the signs and I would like to share these pictures with you all.
The pictures were taken in a BH located at a place called Kampong Pancing, Kuantan, Pahang.
The owner invited my good self to provide some comments about his two units of BHs on a piece of agricultural land with lots of birds flying all the around a large swiftlet fooding areas.
You can sea those young palm oil trees for as far as your eyes can see.
If you make a 360 degrees vision there will be always a group of swiftlet hunting for food.
I drove more than 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur to the location to reach.
"Pak Harry once you exit the Kuantan toll you will see a T junction with traffic light. Please take the right turn and please drive for 10 kilometres and we will be waiting for you in a black Harrier."
The moment I saw the black coloured car I flash my light and they lead me into this thick palm oil plantation, about 8 kilometres deep into kampong.
Along the way there were at least 8 BHs and a few were under construction.
Upon reaching the 2.5 acres of land I was surprised to see two BHs about 10 meters apart.
"Pak Harry welcome to Pancing and we have two BHs here. One is in operation while the second unit is yet to be completed."
The first house was put into operation about 1.5 months ago, according to the owner.
The number of bird shit spots on the floor were reasonable more on the 1st floor and little on the lowest floor.
The first thing I did was to inspect the entrance hole positioning and the orientation to the flying path and the morning sun.
On the whole the BH was okay but there were many things that can be improved to get the attention of those wild swiftlet to enter into the house.
My final inspection was the data room.
The sound for both internal and external were a bit unusual.
I recommended them to replace the internal sound with "SuperBabyKing" and the external to "Marvellous Cloud".
Upon installation with proper volume setting those birds seems to be responding well to the sounds.
I can see a big smile on the owners face.
We found a place to have a cup of coffee and wrote about 10 pages of my opinion what they should do to improve their visitors numbers. Before leaving I was given a short tour on their second BH, not completed yet.
This was where I saw lots of signs showing that there were at least two owl regularly visiting this new BH.
Have a look at the first picture showing a kind of excretion or vomit out of a carcass of a rat.
It seems that the owl will eat their meal by swallowing whole victim. Once the flesh of their victim they will vomit the bones and skin out of their system.
Their shit are white in colour like those chalk. Very little black or other coloured materials in their shit.
Have a good look and if you see something like these in your BH, there is a strong chance that your BH have a night visitor.

There's An Owl In My Bukit Pelanduk BH !!!
Not a very good day when received a called about having an owl in the monkey house.
"Pak Harry, there is an owl inside our BH at Bukit Pelanduk. Look at our CCTV camera channel 8."
That was how my evening goes.
I was very disappointed and told myself to get those owl protection system install as soon as I am back to Bukit Pelanduk.
The discovery was made just after the installation of CCTV camera system this evening.
The moment the CCTV was switched on, the owl was already inside the monkey house on the walkway.
I think this CCTV system is worth every penny.
The owl stayed until 10:00pm.
I am afraid she left her shit on the latch.
Hopefully she will not visit the BH again tomorrow.

A New Way To Get Those Sounds To Continue Being Effective & Last Longer !!!
Initially I was sceptical about a simple advise from an old friend who found a very simple way to attract those wild birds into your BH all day long.
Today after following his advise I found that what he was trying to coach me really works.
"Pak Harry I found this new method very interesting and simple. All you need to do is to use two amplifiers for your external sound tweeters. One you run in the morning from 7:30am till 1:30pm and the second you run it from 1:30pm until 8:30pm."
You now need a set of sounds to be used for the morning and another separate set for the evening.
Before getting those sounds together you need to find the right sounds that you know will be attractive to those birds in your area.
Get about 4-5 of those sounds.
Once you have them with you, you need to process them using any kind of sound editor software.
1) Make sure they are amplified to the same range. U cannot have one at very low volume while the rest are at higher volume. Try to learn using the editor software and get the right range. Try to amplify to 150%.
2) Once that is done you need to copy and paste so that they are at least 60 minutes in length i.e each sound to be able to run to 60 minutes each.
3) Now you convert them to MP3. If you cannot get from those free sound editor, find one using you google search engine. Use WAV to MP3 converter free. Download them and transform all those sounds that you have converted earlier to MP3 so that your amplifier will be able to read them.
4) Now you need to arrange these sounds in a sequence of preferences.
5) Get the four sounds in a piece of paper and try to arrange them to be played at a specific time of the day.
For Example:
Morning Set:
7:30am : SuperGold
8:30am: SuperScrew
9:30am: Super screw (copy)
10:30am: SuperIntan
11:30am: Super Intan.
12:30noon: Supergold.
Evening set:
1:30pm: SuperGoldPot
2:30pm SuperGoldPot (Copy)
3:30pm: SuperIntan
4:30pm: SuperGold
5:30pm: SuperGold (Copy)
6:30pm: Superscrew
7:30pm: Superscrew (Copy)
6) To ensure they will no be rearranged by your computer you now rename each of them using number at the front to instruct the computer to follow the folder in sequences that you wanted as follows:
Morning Set:
7:30am : 01SuperGold
8:30am: 02SuperScrew
9:30am: 03Super screw (copy)
10:30am: 04SuperIntan
11:30am: 05Super Intan.
12:30noon: 06Supergold.
Evening set:
1:30pm: 01SuperGoldPot
2:30pm 02SuperGoldPot (Copy)
3:30pm: 03SuperIntan
4:30pm: 04SuperGold
5:30pm: 05SuperGold (Copy)
6:30pm: 06Superscrew
7:30pm: 07Superscrew (Copy)
8) Now you need to set the timing on your autochanger to start the 1st amplifier from 7:30am till 1:30pm, while the second amplifier to run from 1:30pm till 8:30pm.
9) Insert the first thumb drive to the morning scheduled amplifier and the second thumb drive to evening running amplifier.
I hope I am not making your head confused.
If you need any help call 017 7551318.
I am using this special technique for my new BH project in Bidor and since this morning, I set yesterday, the birds are continuously entering the BH until the nesting room.
Now at 1:01pm they are still a few in the nesting room.
I am impressed with this new method and I hope those who follow this advise will benefit from this new method.
If you are sure or do not have the right sounds let me know.
Will be happy to assemble one for you and let you test it for a few days. The cost is only RM800 for morning and 800 for evening. This is a promotional price excluding thumb drives and postage.
You need to install those CCTV cameras first. Without it you will not know how effective the sounds are.

My Still Very Effective External Sound Oldies: GoldPot !!!
Among the many oldies, I mean old sounds that I have in my collection, there are some that are still as effective as those new sounds.
I was a bit carried away with so many new sounds that I recently acquired.
During one of my meeting with an old friend he make a comment that was a kind of surprised to me.
"Pak Harry, do you know that your first sound ever sold to me many many years ago is still very effective?"
I was taken back for a few short seconds and I gave him a wide smile and said:
Is that so and which sound was that?
"GoldPot." was his answer.
Hmm this sound was very old and more often than not I ignored it since there are so many new sounds in my collection.
Okay, let me check on his comment.
This week I decided to put it back into operation and observe how true was my friend's comment.
I applied it at noon time from 11:30am until 1:30pm. This will be the worse time of the day. Very little birds around and if it can bring in those birds than it is true that the sound is still effective.
Well well well. After two days of observation my conclusion is "True"
There will be always a few couples that will enter the BH and they will go to the back room most of the time.
I am very happy that it was still as effective as before.
The true lesson to this particular article is that don't throw away those oldies.
They might be still be effective if you know how to use them.
To those who would like to have a small clip of "GoldPot", my oldies, please email your address. I will send about 30 sec clips and if you wish to purchase the sound let me know.
It will be only RM200 for the first 5 person.

Super Bully Syndrome !!!!
I remembered an article I wrote about one year ago about a strange phenomena where a BH owner find it hard to accept the fact that his BH only has one miserable nest for more than two years.
He did not suspected anything strange but could not understand why there were no new tenant day by day.
After being so angry with the performance he captured the only couple who stayed in his house and eliminate them.
What happened next was something unusual.
The next few days he got new tenants that keep multiplying nearly everyday.
What he initially suspected was true. The couple that he killed were a king bully that chased away any new visitors who came in to inspect the BH.
I thought that story was a myth and never bother to use that in any of my seminar.
Today a blog reader wrote to me about his similar experience but this time he saw what really happened in a BH using those CCTV camera.
This was what he SMS to me today:
Quote:
Pak Harry, thank u so much because from your blog I learnt about this strange problem. My uncle informed me after I asked him to observe one swiftlet. This bird is a loner and a bully. It tend to chase vigerously any new visitor about 15 birds that tried to enter the BH for inspection. It will continue chasing until they leave the BH. What shall I do with it if I should catch the bully?
Unquote:
I told him to "kill the bastard" (Oops Sorry for being so hard).
The lesson from this is clear. If you have a few nests and they are not multiplying then there must be some possibilities that there is a serious big bullies in your BH.
Try to monitor those current tenants and see if they are chasing away those new potential tenants/visitors.
Once you have determined that they are chasing away your new tenants you need to think of getting them out of your BH.
I term this empty BH as "Super Bully Syndrome".

What About Getting A High End Amplifiers !!!
{ A gentle reminder: Before reading this article please remember to check out on all the advertisements found in this page.}
If you own your BH, I think you should be intelligent enough to know what are the key element to ensure your BH is well designed and equipped with the best equipment.
Among the many gadget in your BH the most important, to me, will be the overall sound system.
You should be well aware that your sound system and the sounds you played is the heart of your total investment.
If your consultant or contractor provide you with the cheapest amplifiers, tweeters and poor cables quality you will find that your neighbours are doing well while your BH looks very sick.
In this article I wanted to write something about the BH amplifiers.
During one discussion with some blog readers and friends we talk about the overall sound system.
My question to them was, what do you think we can improve in the overall sound performance in a BH?
We might think only the sounds but what about the tweeters, amplifiers or even the cables.
What I did was to focus on amplifiers.
Currently most of us are using those low end amplifier types.
The cheaper the cost of these amplifiers the lower quality of it sound produced since the processing card inside the amplifiers are low cost.
The lowest cost amplifier that I used to come across is the RM 200 and below range.
The Medium will be about RM 400 while the high end will be about RM800.
Do you think this is good enough to challenge our neighbour sound system?
I brought this matter to a good friend and he agreed with my comment.
Can we have a higher quality range at a price of about RM3,000 to 6,000?
Will this price range will be too much to compare with the number of birds that it can bring into our BH?
If you allocate say RM 6,000 to the most important part of the whole house (about RM 400,000), which is about 1.5% of the overall cost, it that too much?
I believed the time have come for all to consider my point.
If you can find something that will enhance your sound quality to the optimum and it can supercharged your BH you better make the right decision.
Within one week my good blog reader called me to visit an audio shop which have an interesting range of high end amplifiers that you will never believed.
I managed to view the product and told myself that this was what I have been looking for.
My plan now is to allocate a kind of research fund to get one for research purposes.
The product I am thinking about is the ONKYO latest model.
The price is reasonable but very steep to those who do not value good quality sounds.
We need to wake up and try to overtake our competitors.
Have a look at one of the pictures provided.
A very stylish looks and able to play your Marvellous Cloud with a USB port provided.
We tested the unit with MC and I was surprised to listen to a kind of water flowing sound on the background.
I have never detected those background sound before but this amplifier makes me feel that we are doing the right thing.
The only set back is that this is a home theatre unit that can provide enough signal for about 8 to 10 tweeters.
Hmm..... maybe we can use for those external sound tweeters.
