Nearly 50% Of New Nests Are Due To Fake Nests !!!

This article is about my recent observation in a BH in Gambang, Pahang.

What attract me most during my recent audit was the Fake Nests.

This particular BH was installed with about 200 fake nests.

There were made of either gel, sponge and wood strips.

Main function of these fake nests is to provide a location that will allow those young birds to easily latch on the nesting planks and use them as their platform to construct their home.

After improving the house sound system and operate it for about 3 months the number of nests seems to increase by more than 100%. Most of these new nests, about 50%, were on these fake nests.

They became the most popular spots beside the nesting planks corners and those tweeters.

Those that choose the gel fake nests are the smartest since they need very little work to get the nest ready. These gel fake nests are pretty easy to install.

All you need to do is to heat the side where you want to stick them onto the wooden planks. Just use those cigarette lighters.

Once the sides are soft and sticky you just place them onto the nesting plank and hold it for about 1 minute. The nests will be in placed and ready to receive those young couples.

These soft gel fake nests can be easily removed and move to another location.

The best time to do the removal is after those birds have occupied the nests and reinforced the inner layer with their saliva.

They will usually reinforce the nests with their own saliva and do lace the nest with their feathers.

Once you can see that the nest made of saliva is thick enough you can just tear the soft gel and move it to a new location.

The real nest will not be affected and usually after the first breeding session the couple will reused by reinforcing the nest for their nest breeding cycle.

When you move the fake nest to a new location, it will become the most preferred fake nests for a new couple to stay.

Assuming that you have 10 to 20 fake nests being used and recycled you create lots of preferred site for any young couples that entered your BH.

Main reason being the smell left by previous tenant makes these young couple feel safe. In this manner you can,in actual fact, multiply your nest population at a much faster rate.

Every time a young couple entered your new BH there is a very strong chance that they might locate these recycle fake nests. The cost of these recyclable gel nests is about RM 5.

By investing about RM 250 ringgit you will have 50 fake nests that help to multiply your birds population.

Every couple that uses these nests will eventually increase your net asset value (your BH value) by about RM800 to RM 1,000 per nest.

Think about its benefits and I am sure you make the right decision.

Just give me a call and will get you these special soft gel fake nests.

Have a look at other nests on different fake nests in this BH.
