Revamp Operation At Kepala Batas BH !!!

This three stories BH is in the middle of a padi field beside another old BH.

The old BH seems to be poorly tenanted and cannot be of any help.

The only very strong point observed in the sky were the number of swiftlet hovering and searching for food.

There were thousands everyday and you might want to see this video clip:

A very encouraging signs but there are not easy to be lured into the BH.

There was something else that is causing difficulties for those swiftlet to enter the BH.

The wind.

The wind speed seems to be very strong and every time when this happened those wild birds will be having difficulties to stabilize their flying before able to enter the entrance hole.

The wind flow direction changes at night.

During the daytime the wind direction, strong wind, will be from South west to North east and by night time it will be the reverse direction.

A very unusual situation and something have to be done to help those wild birds.

What was done for this BH was to reopen an entrance hole.

With two entrance holes no matter how the wind direction and speed they will have at least two choices to enter the BH.

The second was to erect a wind breaker.

This was carefully done using those bull plugs to anchor the frame.

The wind speed at the second hole now are under control.
