I have alway make every effort to insist that when U want to invest into birdhouse farming do them far away from any houses that have people staying.
The rule in most towns is 100 meters away from any dwelling houses.
The main reason being the noise that some of these inconsiderate farmers used when they call the birds.
Just imagine staying in a house where the birdsound keep blarring into your house from 6am till 7pm daily, 7 days a week year round.
If U want to be successfull in this swiftlet ranching business, I believed, is to buy a piece of agricultural land and built a dedicated birdhouse. Make sure the land is at a reasonable distance from any dwelling house.
Just look at this picture sent to me by a friend:
These shops, 10 of them, were too close to a housing area and due to serious complaints the local council tear them down. What a waste !!!

So be sensitive not only to the swiftlets but also those human around you (U are one of them) !!!!!
