Strange Observation On Lighting Of Your Nesting Rooms !!!

These few days, been pretty occupied with a projects that have something to do with sick BH treatment.

I normally will do my inspection and make my observations base on the current short coming and the best recommendations.

Most of the time these owners will ask my team to perform the tasks of upgrading the sound systems or perhaps minor revamp works to include the VIP room and Happy hours corner,

In Subang 2, the owner wanted to view the BH with CCTV cameras and it was obvious that it helps to observe those birds from the data room.

I decided to install a four cameras system with 500GB of hard disc memory range.

Yesterday me and the owner was at the BH and have an interesting observation on how those birds flew from the entrance hole into the VIP room.

We stayed for almost two hours to look at their behaviors and concluded the followings:

1) The current installation of those four cameras were precise and well placed.  We can see the birds flying at the entrance window areas and track them from there to the VIP room.

2) The number of cameras were a bit too little.  The action inside the VIP room was not seen since we focus all the four cameras at those strategic locations to track their flying path.  Need to go for 6 cameras in the future.

3) The placement of those external sound tweeters were perfect.  The moment the birds entered the BH entrance window they will fly all the way into the VIP room. This should be the way how a good BH be.

4) There was something strange which puzzle us.  It got something to do with the lighting.  Those birds seem to be scared in entering the VIP room if the lighting (neon lights) were off.  However the moment we switched on the lighting inside the house they will immediately entered the VIP room within seconds. Very strange and not logical.
They have the echolocation ability but strangely they did not want to use this ability.  Hmm ....... I wonder why they refuse to use the clicking sound.

This strange behavior can be the possible reason why many BH have no nest population at the lowest floor of the house.  The amount of light was too little and those birds stays on the upper floors.

The best recommendation is to place a special kind of lighting operated using a digital timer.

The time of operation is crucial but we need to firstly know the reasons for doing so and what time those light be on or off.  Should we put on the light on 24/7?

You need to find out yourself and if you already know, please let us have your comment.
