How To Use Gunny Sacks In Your BH !!!

You might have seen this special bag made of jute plant.

They are commonly used to transport rice or potatoes or garlic or coffee beans and so on.

I remember during my young days when I was brought up in a Sundry Shop.

Most of those rice, potatoes and garlic were kept inside these gunny sacks.

Well what is so special about gunny sack to a swiftlet farmer?

I was talking to one special friend who seems to have weird ideas on many things he uses as a method of luring those swiftlet into his BH.

"Pak Harry I have tried using those gunny sacks to create those wet floor system which you always recommended in your blog."

I asked him how he apply these gunny sacks in his BH.

" Very simple and much easier than using those sand and bird shit.  You just get about 30-50 pieces and soak them in a container with bird shit water and salt for about one week.  Once ready you lay them on the floor of your BH."

"You see Pak Harry you can apply this technique on all the floors in your BH even on the top floor."

Hmm... this is pretty interesting I told him.

He make lots of senses.  If you lay those wet gunny sacks on the floor there won't be any flooding.

You see if you use those sands and bird shit you will have a very limited application.

Can you imagine having to carry a ton of sand to the top most floor?

My workers have been complaining about having back ache every time they finish carrying those sands.

This new method using gunny sacks soak in bird shit water with salt it them is an interesting new idea.

Every time you visit your BH you just need to sprinkle a small layer of fresh bird shit and salt.  Once that is done you water them to be wet.

The gunny sack retained those water and create a long lasting aroma in your BH.

I have not tried this new technique but sooner or later I prefer to use this new method as compared to those one inch thick sand with bird shit on the top.

Do you know where to get those gunny sacks?

I give you this hint.

Try to guess where can you buy cheap used containers that have been used at one time.

The recycle shop or karung gunny shop.

The price is about 60 sen a piece.
