Visited Another BH in Pasir Mas Kelantan !!!

Just arrived from another long day visiting a BH located in Pasir Mas Kelantan.

Started early in the morning to catch the 1st flight out from Subang and later came back on the last Firefly flight back to Kuala Lumpue.

The trip was nothing more than usual.

This particular trip was to visit a BH build about 8 months ago with about 12 bird shit markings and only one saliva spot.

"Pak Harry what do you think is the problem?" asked the owner. I got to put a long grin on my face and told him that the whole thing was wrong.

1st: Your BH is not properly orientated towards the flying path direction. It should be orientated as such is will be running in parallel to the flying path.

2nd: Your entrance hole is on the wrong side of the BH. It should be on the other side closer to the flying path where the birds are flying home. Yours is facing the flying path where the birds are flying out in the morning. You should face the main entrance hole facing directly to the birds flying towards you so that your external sound will be heard by those birds miles away before the even reaches your BH.

3rd: Your hexagonal tweeter seems to be located a bit offset. It would be better if you placed the gadget on the top of the roof just below the entrance hole.

4th: The hexagonal tweeters should be a bit shorter. Your purpose is to bring those birds as closed as possible to the entrance hole but not so far up until they cannot find your entrance hole.

5th: Your external sound tweeters arrangement on the entrance hole wooden frame are not proper. You put the two on the top too much to the top until touching the wooden frame both the top and sides. You are not giving enough rooms for those birds to come and play or kiss your tweeters. Similarly the two at the bottom. Both are touching the cross wood frame.

6th: You know why those birds are not building their nests? The simple reason being your top most floor is too bright. From where I stand, about 30 feet away from the end wall, I can see those ventilation pipes. The rule of the thumb is that when you stand about 2 feet away from any fixtures you cannot see them.

7th: You have a terrible way of fixing those internal tweeters. How come they are facing the floor of the BH. In my entire experience in swiftlet farming I have never seen such a weird orientation. Why must you torture those birds when your objective is to ensure that they have everything they like to lure them to be you permanent tenant?

8th: You have never read my blog about the important of VIP room. I think you need to erect a wall on each floor to create a VIP room. So far this particular method have been proven to be effective. Trust me !!! 9th: You nesting planks are pretty dirty and I can see lots of those spider webs too. You need to clean them and those spider webs makes your tenant feel insecure.

10th: You have no cluster tweeters, not one. You need to install at least 30-40 a floor and mainly inside your VIP room. 11th: What about those chandelier tweeters. Try to install at least two per floor.

There were many more things that I need to keep to myself and I hope this article will teach you something.

The gist of the whole thing was that the so call "Consultant" have so little knowledge about those swiftlet and he managed to pull his way to a poor guy who knows so little about swiftlet farming.

I was so sad to see the kind of things that people do to convince a low knowledge person to part with their life saving.

I don't know how much I can do for how long.

Please guys try to gather enough knowledge before you jump into building your dream BH.

Try to read as much as you can and attend a few swiftlet farming courses before you get those people to start erecting your BH.

While building try to engage an experience Sifu to guide you just in case you make any gross mistakes.

I am sure there are a few genuine Sifu and if you cannot find one just call 017 755 1318.
