Bidor Perak: How A BH Owner Cool His Birdhouse !!!

While taking around those Sibu Brothers (four newbies from Sibu Sarawak) I stop in Bidor, Perak for our late lunch.

Before filling our tummy I showed them a BH who came out with this method of preventing direct sunlight onto his BH side wall and roof.

This BH is about 20'X70' located above a three stories building in Bidor town center. If you are coming from Setiawan or Telok Intan you can see the building on the left hand side of the road when you are crossing the town.

The ground floor is a mobile phone shop. The second floor is occupied by some tenants. The highest floor is a BH.

The owner came out with a very well designed cover using those black plastic mat with a steel frame.

The steel frame uses steel square rod (3/4"x3/4"). The gap between the mat and the wall was about 1.5 feet.

The plastic mats used were those used for orchid plantation farm. He secured the mat using those black plastic ties. They look very secured and tight.

If you move about 5 meters away you can also view the roof also covered with the same plastic materials.

The entrance opening is the top entry type and this seem to be the best BH in Bidor.

You might learn something from this article and I am sure the internal temperature is better then those BHs with direct sunlight hitting their side walls and roof top.
