Edible Birdnest farming can be considered an ideal, most exciting and a very lucrative business. This venture is suitable for those who live in parts of Cambodia, Southern Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippine and Indonesia. This blog is dedicated to my findings, crazy ideas, encounters with newbies, comments from friends, local news, pictures relevant to Birdnest plus my personal experiences and knowledge gained in swiftlet farming.

A Bungalow House With Her Own Fort Knot At The Back !!!
Serikei town, to me, have the most houses/bungalows with birdhouse at the back.
I used to travelled to many swiftlet towns in Malaysia. To me Serikei have the most number of houses/bungalows with birdhouses. It is like every one have their own Bank or Bank vault with white gold bars.
There are lots of advantage of having your BH in your house compound.
Firstly you can be an active BH owner. Active mean you carry out more activities to help in populating your BH. This can be insect generating activities, breeding of young birds, incubate those new eggs, prepare your own aromas and so forth.
Secondly you can give more protection to the house from predators and burglars. There is no need to employ and Indonesian helper to stay and look after your BH.
Thirdly, your wife will love you more. All in all you will be back home before those birds start to enter the house to roost. So your wife will prepare your favourite coffee and some cookies for the evening. I am sure she will make sure there are no mosquito biting your legs.
Fourth reason, once you harvest you have lesser chances for being rob on the way home. There have been many cases reported where those robbers keep a very close eyes on your movement when harvesting season is on.
Fifth, it seem that looking at those birds makes you feel more calm and less stress. As such you will have a longer life.
Remember the above are just my opinions. I might not be always right......
