Have you ever though about clearing those unwanted items in your BH?
I have entered many birdhouses for inspection and out of 10 only one was a clear of those unwanted things.
Yesterday for example, the owner placed so many items on the floor including extra nesting planks, extra bricks, extra ventilation holes pipes, rocks, ladder, boxes, plastic bags, newspapers, aroma empty containers and many more.
Some I saw still keep those damaged humidifiers and pumps in their BH.
The reason why you should clear these unwanted things is for the sake of the followings:
1) These items should not be there. They create the home for those cockroaches, rats, geckos, lizards and etc.
2) All items that can still be used should be kept on those racks in your data or store room.
3) One of the most crucial reason why you should clear those unwanted items is the potential of fungus breeding. Just imagine you BH is with high humidity (80 -95%RH) and when these water droplets come in contact with any wood based materials, they actually breed fungus.
Do you know what will happen after the house is full of those fungus and its spores? Yes they will chase away all your birds and no new one will enter your BH.
So listen to this advise.
Please clear all those unwanted materials from your BH. Most critical are those wood base materials like ladder, partitioning, boxes, newspapers, cardboard and etc.
You loose nothing but may gain lots of milage by doing so.......
