Politics and Swiftlet Farming !!!

The general election is over and Malaysians now waits for the official results.

I can safely say that BN will be still a ruling party but with simple majority and they will understand what the Rakyat wants.

It looks that what I predicted came true!!! BN with simple majority in the Parliament and a few more states will be ruled by the oppositions.

Surprise ... Surprise and Surprises .....

So what do you think will happen to the swiftlet farming industries in Malaysia?

Well we have to wait and see .....

I hope the newly elected states ruling parties like those in Perak, Kedah, Penang, Selangor (new states that fall into the opposition party) will not be hard on the swiftlet farmers. They should look at a more regulated ways of pushing the industry to a higher level but with stringent regulations where all parties involved with the industry pay attention to what the Rakyat wanted.

The industry need a more structured and regulated rules where the government gives more incentives to use agricultural land as swiftlets farming. More fund to be allocated to those new comers.

Perhaps a special task force in the Jabatan Pertanian be formed and come out with all the incentives, guidelines and requirements to ensure that this business is encourage and not discourage.

Those swiftlets located too near to residential areas are something that need to be looked at. How can they be beneficial but give little impact to their neighbors.

We have the technologies to improve this unique business and if there is a will there are ways to improve the industry.

In the meantime, I am sure all swiftlet ranchers are worried and concern over the fate of their birdhouses.

Well, I am one of them....
